Directional Blind Pedestrian Guidance Device for Replacing Beeping Pedestrian Traffic Signals at Street Intersections

Description of Invention

This invention uses the newest directional ultrasonic wave transmission technology、 overlapping 138Hz beeping sound on top of 40 KHz ultrasonic waves、 activating ultrasonic emitters to emit ultrasound to the air、 utilizing the high directional and non-linear characteristics of ultrasonic waves to restore directional 138Hz beeping sound to guide blind pedestrians the go-ahead in a traffic intersection. Because of the directional nature of the beeping sound、 blind pedestrians can simply follow the direction of the loudest beep to cross a traffic intersection quickly and without veering off direction. In order to let blind pedestrians to be in position for the ultrasonic beeping speaker、 we created a guidance area in traffic intersections where、 when in the area、 a signal is send to the modified walking cane of the blind pedestrian to notify him that he is in position. The guidance area is touch sensitive、 and the beeping sound is activated only during green light and when a blind pedestrians shoes with metal strips are on top of the electric current conducting metal strips of the guidance area. There are no similar products on the market、 and this is a new invention.
