Two-tier Linkage door handle

Description of Invention

Our design is a two-tier linkage door handle which was developed for fitting the needs of disabled people and enhancing the technology for social care. We have seen disabled people who were attempting to open the door but failed to reach the door handle due to the handles place being too high. Therefore、 we decided to design a two-tier linkage door handle、 which consists of a linkage device and two door handles、 to ameliorate this poor situation. We installed a door handle under the original one and designed a linkage device、 which was composed of pinions and racks、 to drive the upper and lower door handles. The door can be opened through either the upper handle or the lower one. This design makes both normal and disabled people be able to open the door easily. Moreover、 our design is allowed to customize the linkage door handle through adjusting the height of the lower handle and offering different types of handle according to the users needs. For example、 the lower door handle can be installed at the height available to the four-year-old children. As for the people who are carrying too many things and is inconvenient to open the door with hands、 the lower door handle can be changed into a pedal which can be pushed down with the foot to open the door. We hope our design is friendly to the disabled minority as well as improves the quality of everyones life.
