What you can experience

Message from Chairman of JIII

We at the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation are holding the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) at the Osaka-Kansai Expo in August 2025. The IEYI, an international stage for youngsters from all over the world to present their ideas and inventions, aims to provide a valuable opportunity for letting the world know about the creativity of the pioneers of the next generation.

On one hand, we are enjoying the benefit of rapid advances in innovations in fields such as AI, IoT, robotics, and biotech. Yet on the other hand, we are facing climate change, energy resource depletion, marine pollution, and other problems of global scale that have become more and more evident. In light of these challenges, the hopes of building a sustainable futuristic society are increasingly being entrusted to younger generations.

Aiding this endeavor, the IEYI serves as an international forum where young people can interact with each other beyond national and cultural boundaries, potentially gaining new perspectives and insights as they encounter diverse ideas and values. This year’s venue will showcase a variety of projects from young creators from all over the world, which range from ideas for solving environmental problems, innovations that simplify daily life, and inventions designed for region-specific challenges, and these projects will be presented by the creators themselves.

The IEYI will also feature workshops and interactive booths organized by companies and other organizations that support the goals of the IEYI. It is my hope that your understanding of the nature of creativity will deepen through these engaging programs, which will give you insight to the allure of invention and creation and the importance of intellectual property.

Young creators gathered from across the globe eagerly await your presence. I warmly invite you to visit the IEYI, directly engage with these young people, and immerse yourselves in a sea of creations filled with creativity and passion.
