| COMMENTARY | "The idea for this project began after learning about the devastating wildfires in California. Each year, these fires destroy homes, forests, and wildlife habitats, while firefighters risk their lives facing extreme conditions. As climate change worsens, traditional firefighting methods are no longer fast or safe enough.
Inspired by this problem, I designed the Flying Fire-Extinguishing Robot, an AI-powered aerial robot that fights fires more efficiently and reduces risk to human life. It flies directly into fire zones, using thermal sensors, cameras, and gas-dispersion nozzles to detect and extinguish flames. Its heat-resistant body can survive temperatures up to 2,000°C and live-streams video to emergency centers, helping responders make faster decisions.
The robots launch from stations across the city and are triggered by smart fire sensors in buildings—responding automatically before anyone calls 119. Additionally, firefighters wear jet-powered boots to quickly reach higher floors during rescues.
By combining AI, aerial mobility, and smart infrastructure, this invention makes firefighting faster, safer, and more effective—protecting both people and the planet."
