COMMENTARYI chose the ocean as nature's representative because pollution and coral bleaching are getting serious. I realized we used to think about "transforming nature," but to make nature better, we must start with respect, not change. My painting uses an underwater view with three layers: sea surface, mid-water, and seabed. At the center is a Bauhaus-style building made of strong transparent materials. Inside are land plant pods that give oxygen to sea life and take minerals from the water — a closed-loop system like underwater farms being tested today. But the building must not hurt the natural coral around it. That's why I kept natural coral and rocks in the painting. A bright DNA double helix connects the human city and the ocean. Why DNA? Because only those who truly experience the ocean will truly respect it. This idea is real: we already use gene editing to make stress-resistant crops, and humans evolved from fish. So "temporary adaptation" is not adding something new — it is awakening a memory inside us. Humans can visit the ocean as guests, and only by seeing it can we truly want to protect it. So what is harmony? Not conquest, not retreat. It is like a DNA strand — intertwined, each keeping its true self. We are just a small part of nature. That's why we should respect it and love it — because that's how we can live better within it. Thank you.
