Weight Watcher

Description of Invention

Weight Watcher is designed to overcome the issue of overweight school bag. Studies have shown that a childs school bag shouldnt exceed 10% of the childs weight. It reaches its alarming level when its weight goes beyond 15%. A large number of school children suffered from various medical conditions such as scoliosis、 orthopaedic ailments、 backaches、 spondylitis、 neck pain、 deformed skeletons and other problems as a result of carrying the overweight school bags.

Two types of Weight Watchers were designed to cater for children with different preferences and needs. First type ? Electronics Weight Watcher (EWW) consists of two acrylic sheets、 four springs、 a battery holder、 two units of AAA sized batteries、 a short length of cable、 a buzzer、 a few screws and nuts、 a power switch、 a limit switch and a cable connector. First、 the buzzer、 power switch、 limit switch and battery holder filled with two units of AAA sized batteries are to be connected to a cable connector by cable. Then、 the electronic components are to be connected and fixed in between two acrylic sheets that are supported by four springs and screws. When weight is inserted up to a pre-set value、 alarm will be triggered.

Hydraulic Weight Watcher (HWW) is designed with few reused syringes/urine bag、 recycled tubing from old fish tanks、 some coloured water with the acrylic structure constructed as above. Syringes/urine bag were fixed in between of the acrylic sheets. When the weight is inserted、 fluid will be channelled through the discharge of syringes/urine bag entering tubing. The pressurized fluid will flow along the tubing to external indicator to indicate the weight of content of the bag. Children will observe and remove additional weight from the bag once water level is higher than the pre-set marking. The weight of bags content can be pre-calibrated with marking on external tubing.
