COMMENTARY :
It is hoped that the living spaces of human beings can be reduced in the future to resemble the capsule hotels of today. I envision a concept similar to the Doraemon reduction beam in which learning spaces such as schools, sports centers, libraries, laboratories, etc. can be reduced in size to capsules located near residential areas. This system has many advantages: children will not need parents to drive them around and their studies will not be restricted by time and place. The environment will be preserved and nature will have the chance to flourish. Petroleum resources can be economized because conventional vehicles and roadways will be transformed into suspended vehicles and magnetic levitation (MagLev) walkers. Suspended vehicles are high-tech machines that convert solar energy into kinetic energy. They do not depend on petroleum for energy and so protect the environment and natural resources. MagLev walkers are half tubes or slides which connect homes to other capsules and places of learning. They are safe and convenient because they are suspended in the air. In order to develop this future technology, we need students educated in STEM. Therefore, current learning places, such as schools, are still important. At school, for example, students can “learn through doing”. In my painting, the learning places are in the air. This symbolizes that as long as you want to learn, you can transcend the limitations of time and break the barriers of space. The painting also represents the idea that that the creation of future scientific and technological knowledge depends on developing the necessary intelligence, wisdom, and knowledge.
