JIII was established in 1904 and has since continuously served as the center for the promotion of invention and dissemination of the intellectual property system, thus leading to the encouragement of science and technology and the development of industry. JIII is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its establishment this year and, in commemoration, the Commemorative Ceremony, the International Symposium and other events were held in Tokyo.
The International Symposium mentioned above was held on May 25th, Owning to the involvement of distinguished representatives from around the world, the International Symposium proved to be extremely productive and led to the announcement of the “Chair's Summary”, titled as “Tokyo Declaration”, standing out as evidence of the most noteworthy nature of the common mission of all the participants.
